What to pack for a surf trip to Morocco
Good news: for a surf week at HoneyPath Ocean Retreat you can travel light. Surfboard, wetsuit, bed linen and towels are provided, so you mainly need sun protection and comfortable clothes.
What we provide
- Surfboard and wetsuit for the whole stay (included in the surf week)
- Bed linen and towels
- Breakfast, lunch and dinner
- Transport to the spots and free pickup in Agadir
For the water
- Swimwear (two sets, so one can dry)
- A rash vest or Lycra top if you like extra sun protection
- Waterproof sun cream with a high SPF, and a stick for your face
- A hair tie or cap
- Surf booties if you have sensitive feet (most of our beginner beaches are sandy)
For the beach and the rooftop
- Sunglasses and a hat
- Flip-flops or sandals
- Light clothes for the day
- A warm top or light jacket for the evenings, which can be fresh, especially in winter
- A reusable water bottle
Practical things
- Passport, and travel insurance that covers surfing
- Some cash: the balance of your stay is paid in cash on arrival, in euros or dirhams
- A plug adapter: Morocco uses European two-pin plugs (types C and E, 220 V)
- Any medicine you need, plus plasters for small cuts
Dress code in the village
Tamraght is a relaxed surf village, and swimwear is normal on the beach. In the village and in the souks, it is respectful to cover your shoulders and knees.
What you can leave at home
Your own board and wetsuit, unless you prefer them; towels and bed linen; and a car, since transport to the spots is included every day.
